Tension due to Islam Party leader Redouane Ahrouch that announced for next election in october a proposal for to apply sharia law in Belgian. Redouane Ahrouch had required in one of the first proposals the separation of men and women on public transport.

After decision of the Belgian government that officially decided to withdraw the administration of the Great Mosque in Brussels from Saudi Arabia and give it to Morocco, this week registered growing alert for decision that abolished a bilateral agreement made in 1969.

Following the tensions between Holland and the Democratic Republic of  Congo, the economic aid negotiations and the Dutch State have been closed this week announcing the sending of half a billion of funds donated for human aid.

The whole area of the Low Countries remains at maximum alert because of the statements of Muslim leaders who want to establish the Sharia law. This week was particularly important for the definition of candidates for the October local elections in Brussels.

No particular consideration comes from the crime during this week. The major risks related to this remain the cities of Brussels in the area of the north and Amsterdam stations in the central station areas. Although prostitution is legal in both states, police-controlled areas recorded an increase in retail sales of synthetic marijuana and amphetamines during the week.

Security Alert

The biggest security problem comes from further attempts by hackers from Eastern Europe who have also involved several Dutch and Belgian banks this week. In particular, there is fear of a resurgence of computerized phishing for identity theft.

Further tensions in relation to security are due to the possible increase in pressure exerted by Islamic movements. Many far-right groups have expressly voiced their dissent and for next week some demonstrations are planned in Brussels and Antwerp.
