Five Kenyan policemen were killed in an attack on their vehicle in the northeast county of Mandera near the border with Somalia, in raids by al Shabaab the Islamist militants from Somalia.

The group claimed responsibility for the latest attack.

Somalia: 17 police officers killed in suicide bomber attack

A suicide bomber disguised as a policeman blew himself up inside a police training camp in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu this morning and killed at least 17 officers.

The militant Islamist group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack.
