Turkish citizens travelling to United States face risk of arbitrary arrest

Turkey’s foreign ministry said Turkish citizens travelling to the United States face the risk of arbitrary arrest, saying they should revise travel plans and take precautions if they do decide to travel.

In a travel warning statement on its website dated Jan. 11, the ministry also said there had been an increase in terror attacks and violent incidents in the United States recently.

The prosecutors accuse Fuller of “attempting to overthrow the government of the Republic of Turkey and obstructing the duties of the Republic of Turkey,” “obtaining state information that must be kept secret for political and military espionage purposes,” and “attempting to overthrow the constitutional order”, according to the report.

At least 28 suspects have been arrested across Turkey on Tuesday over suspected links to the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), according to security officials.

FETÖ and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gülen orchestrated the defeated coup attempt of July 15, 2016, which left 250 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.
