Spain Catalonia political crisis

Catalonia: political crisis

What did the governor of Catalonia do?

After the political crisis which involved Catalonia, Mr Puigdemont, fearing being arrested, appears to have fled to Belgium.

It is possible that the Governor of Catalonia did not expect Mariano Rajoy to apply Article 155 and that Catalonia would be commissioned. So, the scenarios changed and the strategy changed as well.

Puigdemont is definitely looking for alliances, but above all is looking for visibility.

He will try in all ways to involve other states and other separatist groups who can support the Catalan separatist project. Apparently Puigdemont is not left alone but he is accompanied by five Catalani Ministers, including Ms. Meritxell Borràs, Mr.Toni Comin, Ms. Dolors Bassa and Jaquim Forn.

Hardly any political asylum seekers will be welcomed by Belgium, but it is important to remember that at this time the Flemish independents are at the helm in a coalition with Prime Minister Charles Michel’s reform movement.

Although the NVA represents the extreme parliamentary right, and has nothing to do with left-wing Catalan independence, it is possible that the two groups on strategic grounds find a synthesis of agreement to pursue their own goals.

Certainly, any possible alliance between the two groups would lead to all the independent movements that are currently active throughout Europe.

France, Italy, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Former Yugoslavia, almost no nation is immune to the phenomenon of separatism. Meanwhile Puigdemond achieved a result. Now Belgium is also called to make decisions for things and facts of another country.
